Providing water supply to the drip irrigation system - Astrakhan agro-industrial complex

Motorcon has developed, manufactured and delivered 12 pumping stations for irrigation system of the Astrakhan agro-industrial complex.

In 2018 Russia's main producer of tomatoes and tomato paste expanded the area of cultivation by another 2000 hectares. In all new fields, a drip irrigation system was installed, which supplies water to the root zone of plants.
Water supply to all elements of the system is provided by Motorcon pumping stations.

Project details

For mechanics and hydraulic engineers of the Astrakhan agro-industrial complex, the most important issue when choosing pumping equipment was its reliability and compliance with operating parameters.

Why?

First, in spring and summer seasons, irrigation of fields is carried out almost non-stop, in a 24/7 mode.

Downtime should be avoided.

Secondly, the technical characteristics of the pumps are required to provide water supply over long distances.The farthest watering point is 5.5 km away from the water intake.

This should be thoroughly calculated.

Third, muddy water of the river must be filtered so that the pump does not get branches, mud and algae, and the intake device is not clogged.

Solution

Motorcon has developed 8 powerful pumping stations based on Volvo Penta engines and 4 medium-capacity units with MMZ engines for Astrakhan farmers.

Each model was designed to provide the desired head and feed characteristics at a specific point in the irrigation system.

Our Russian and foreign partners have joined the project.

The Livgidromash plant produced Delium pumps made of stronger metal and with a higher efficiency than standard pumps.

This made it possible to ensure the specified operating parameters of the installations.

Special self-cleaning filters (Riverscreen) have been supplied by our partners from the United States.

These water intake devices are not only able to clean themselves from mud, algae and branches without assistance, but also work directly in mid-water.

The unique solution solves another problem for mechanics: the need to change the configuration of hoses when the water height changes in the river (on the Astrakhan the Akhtuba river it reaches 7-7. 5 meters).

Motorcon pumping stations are already in full operation in the fields of Astrakhan.

Every day they pump 15700 cubic meters of water.

Hydraulic engineers stress that the delivered equipment is thought out to the smallest detail and is very convenient to use.
